Wilbur L. Scoville
Born on January 22, 1865 - March 10, 1942 and was a
American chemist best known for developing the Scoville scale.

He designed the test and scale – which determines the spiciness of pepper – in 1912 for the pharmaceutical company Parke-Davis
He won the Ebert Prize (1922), received the Remington Medal of Honor (1929), and an honorary doctorate from Columbia University (1929).
