How do you make Surinamese Roti Bowl yourself?
1. Prepare
Cut the chicken thighs into large chunks. Peel the potatoes and dice them. Cut the long beans into pieces of about 5 cm.
2. Chicken and masala fry
Heat the sunflower oil in a large pan. Sauté the onion and garlic until translucent. Add the chicken and masala spices and cook until golden brown all over.
3. Stewing
Add the diced potatoes and pour in the water. Crumble the stock cube over the pan and simmer gently for 20 minutes with the lid on. Add the long beans after 10 minutes.
4. Serving
Divide the roti sheets among plates. Top with the chicken, potatoes, and vegetables and serve with a generous spoonful of Drop the Lemon Sambal for a fresh, spicy kick.
Serving tip
Roll everything up in the roti or serve it as a colorful bowl. Let your guests choose their own portion of sambal... but be warned: one spoonful is rarely enough .
